Hi
Weird one this. I'm using a customised version of ePortfolio8 with CE10.
I have an error when attempting to retrieve instance information for a report. The error is as follows:
There was an error retrieving data from the server: Item #8529 was not found in the collection
the number...
Has anyone ever had issues viewing successfully scheduled report instances that use Crystal's date time functions? (especially when using shared variables in sub-reports)
I seem encounter issues viewing subsequent pages of a report instance, often getting the message "Unable to connect...
Hi
Can anyone tell me the maximum date allowed as a default parameter when scheduling reports in CE10.
With ce8 I was able to set a default date range of '01/01/1900' .. '31/12/9999'. However under CE10 the upper date range causes a problem
Are there any updates I can apply so that I can...
Hi
Using Crystal 10 Cross tab component. Gives me everything I need except I'd like my labels to appear on the right hand side, instead of the left.
Can this be done? Am I just being an idiot and not seeing the obvious check box I need to check /uncheck
Many thanks
More info: If I create a report from scratch in CR10, then add a sub-report (created in CR8.5), and the sub-report also interrogates the db (as is the case 99.999% of the time!!), it works.
Guess there's a problem with porting complete reports from CR8.5->CR10 ? Or is there something that I...
You say that certain components seem to affect your ability to debug: Do you have the source available for them? You can manually set debugging options in your source with {$D+} (enable debugging) and {$D-} (disable). You can also use {$DEBUGINFO ON} or {$DEBUGINFO OFF}. If you don't have...
Hi
Currently evaluating CR10 / CE10. Not in too deep yet but have come across an immediate show stopper when viewing *scheduled* reports (that use sub-reports) through CE10; they don't work. I get the error:
"Unable to retrieve Object.
Information is needed before this report can be...
Not sure if this helps, but software force's '.rpt Inspector' tool allows you to make global changes to a number of reports in one hit. Its not a bad effort though I've not used it in anger as yet. Try it out:

Hi
Anyone have an answer for this ? Currently using / evaluating CR 10 and CE 10. I see lots of updates on Crystal's website, except of course they don't work for oem'd versions.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did infact end up using a couple of sub-reports to get the effect. As mentioned, there is no real link between role and department, so although all the information is presented in one view it is semantically confusing. In this case a user simply has a set of roles...
Hi
Is there a bug with Crystal's underlay function? I've used it in plenty of situations before without error, so assume its something I'm doing wrong. Here goes at an explanation:
I have a table that returns a list of users, their department and roles for each department. The table is...
Hi
I have a sub-report that snakes data across and down.
I also have banding on my report to make it more readable.
I've had to amend the banding set up for snaking sub-report because everytime crystal writes a record out on a detail line, it increments my banding count. This in turn was...
Blimey. For those that are interested, or have similar problems I've discovered the reason:
My report has a number of detail sections that are underlaid. Its this thats causing the problem.
I'm not sure if this is fixed in later versions of crystal, but its a royal pain in the neck...
I've just discovered that the problem isn't related to the sub-report; If I remove the sub report and simply add a formuala to display element 1 of the array in a detail band, I get the same problem. I.e. Crystal prints the contents of the array element for this first page, but errors on the...
Hi.
I'm having some problems with shared variables and sub reports:
I have a main report that declares a shared memory variable in a formula (fmlParam). Its job is simply to populate an array with the values of parameters required by the report and it doesn't access any database fields.
