interface tracking you can ydo with HSRP but I wanted to do it with two interfaces on the same router - looked at
with regards to Fatty 99
yes I wanted to do it that way but the LCP negotiation with PIPEX always failed so there was no other way of doing it, had to set it as ip address...
we have installed a new sdsl line with Pipex - their guidelines have suggested that the dialer interface should be set to "ip address negotiated" however we have been assigned a range of ip's one of which I want to use on the Pipex router as we will then be able to route traffic out of one of...
have you tried formatting your flash (this will erase anything currently in there) but may solve your problem.
If you look at console messages - do you see any errors other than the one in your post
I want to know if there is a source other than the IOS bug toolkit that can be used to check latest Cisco vulnerabilities on their range of routers.
I currently have over 400 837s now running the same IOS but I want to run monthly IOS/config checks to make sure they are not vulnerable...
I have two options currently for setting up a new VPN solution.
we will have approx 250 users connecting via RAS the options are ISA 2004 or VPN concentrators (concurrent 150)
the setup using ISA would be two entry points one box for each - to allow some kind of resiliency. using AD to...
I know this could be in either forum but anyway - here is the problem
I have VPNs setup for RAS users - authentication takes place on the ACS box (with AD). users have no problem getting to unrestricted areas on the local LAN. The problem is when they want to access other networks on the...

yes that is right - What I have managed to do curretly is to have the FW allocate the client config (DNS IPaddress etc)
I have set up groups in ACS which have their access restricted by using the downloadable PIX ACLS which appears to be working fine
I do have a problem with routing the vpn...
I am currently in the process of setting up a VPN solution. I have the firewall currently issuing the IP address for clients when they log in - however I want the ACS to do this job as I can then restrict the access rights for different user groups.
set up currently is as follows
Client -->...
thanks for the great information - I have a solution now - my only problem is I don't appear to be able to route the vpn traffic - it is fine on the local LAN but I want the vpn traffic to be able to access other areas of the network
I can post config of the vpn setup - can you tell possibly...
A real example would be great thanks.
Currently the MPPE terminates on the PIX - this sends an authentication request to the Radius server and this does an AD lookup and allows the user on.
PPTP currently gets as far as authenticating but never actually gets on to the network.
Has anyone managed to get this working - I curently have mppe working for 2000 and XP machines, unfortunatley I still have 100 or so NT4 machines tat cannot support mppe so therefore I have configured the pix to accept pptp - bu cannot get it to work.
Has anyone managed to achieve this?
thanks...
