one or more wireless networks are available

Hello cannothandle, I would suggest you to enable the WEP on both the router and the card to 64 Hex. Change the SSID and channel to 11. If you are using G router, set the transmission rate to 11 instead of auto. This should solve your problem.

    Cable modem/router "one box" solution?

Linksys has BEFCMUH4, a cable modem/router which has 4 ports available and a HPNA port on it. Nevertheless; I wouldn't recommend you using such modem/router because it would increase the chances of failure. I would recommend what your isp would be using on their connection network.

Need to manually assign IP's to computers linked to a Linksys BEFW11S4

Well assign an IP Address of 192.168.1.XXX; any number as long as it does not exist over the network. The router by default has 192.168.1.1 and DHCP assigned IPs are 192.168.1.100-149, therefore, you could assign IPs from 192.168.1.2-99 and 192.168.1.150-254. 192.168.1.255 is a broadcast IP...

    WRT54G dropping Wireless Connections

My correction DHCP doesn't contribute anything to modem crashing. Only power outages would contribute to modem crashing!

    WRT54G dropping Wireless Connections

Why prefer 1 or 11: In telecommunications there are actually two standards: one is known as standard by jurisdiction and standard set internationally. 802.11b is an IEEE standard set internationally. Meaning that there are lots of frequencies using that spectrum, even wireless phone uses...

Dreddnews, Hi there! I would agree with Bcastner's suggestion in changing the channel to either 11 or 1 and also the SSID; nevertherless, the link provided is "VERY" inappropriate since it happens to both computer and PS2. Besides if your running different operating system try using...
