I found MSTP and have set my switch to use that. I went and configured Instances for each VLAN, but the port is still in a discarding state and alternate role.
So, there must be some configuration that I am missing to make this work.
Yes I have checked for loops on the other switches.
I think the problem may relate to Dell switch not having a separate STP root for each VLAN. The Dell 3448 has 2 vlans, one for the Internet and one for the office LAN. If STP has only one root per switch, it may think this is a loop?
I can't...
I am plugging the Dell 6224 that is having the problem into a Dell 3448 switch. This switch has 2 other Linksys switches uplinking to it as well as our Cisco router out to the Internet.
I have a Dell 6224 switch with 5 Vlans defined, one for Lan, one for a subcompany LAN, 2 for DMZ - one for each LAN, and then one for straight to the Internet.
When I uplink the Internet port (Vlan 3), its STP status is Discarding and Role is Alternate. So it is dedicating this as an alternate...
In my SSRS reports my footers have a red background and white text. When I export to excel the footer only shows up when I print, but the footer has a white background and black text.
When I have a header and export to an excel document, it exports just as it appears in the SSRS report.
Is...
I Have a report with 4 tables, each with 25 rows (including header). The first table is fine, but only half of the second page fits on the page causing it to be split between two pages.
I have the table enclosed in a list. The list and table are set to "Fit on one page if possible". This works...
Where does the Interchange Sender ID (segment ISA06) come from? Is this like a business ID or something assigned by the EDI gods prior to implementing a B2B system? Does some institution have authority over its uniqueness as an identifier?
Thanks!
Thanks for the info.
I assume by replica you mean another MySQL machine somewhere that holds an identical database that I can shut that down and back up?
If I just replicated the tables in the current MySQL instance, I would still need to shut down the service to back them up.
Also, this is...
I was using mysqldump to perform MySQL backups just fine. However, we recently had to restore the database and it took about 10 hours for 100GB to restore. Now they (managers) want me to find a different method, one that will restore faster.
So I tried using MySQL administrator's backup utility...
Neither the tape drive or the media is in any media pools, that is the problem that I am having. All the media pools are empty. I did verify that the tape drive was on the Hardware Compatibitlity list as well.
I have a Quantum SDLT tape drive and superloader. The device is recognized automatically in Device Manager (I removed it and scanned for hardware changes, it found it right away). It also is used successfully with my ARCServe backup software.
However, I need to restore a tape that was created...
Yes, but I thought that the packets and bytes displayed were the total error free traffic since the last interface reset. This would mean that both the packets and the bytes should go up, not down, over the course of a day.
So, by 10:45 I should have transmitted more bytes than I had...
I ran the show interface serialX command on my router twice today. At 830 the input and output looked like this:
61089110 packets input, 4246250336 bytes, 0 no buffer
64978203 packets output, 1980808850 bytes, 0 underruns
At 1045 I got
62307006 packets input, 709904190 bytes, 0 no buffer...
I am trying to write a script to change all of the passwords in an OU to a standard default. I have connected to the OU and I am enumerating through the list of users. I can set things like Description and enable users to get prompted to change their password at next login. However when I try to...
Thanks for your help. The problem was not including the function prototype in the file that called the function.
The putsym(sym_name) was a typo, I just didn't add the other argument. I have the typedef for symrec included in my code, again I just didn't paste that here. Thanks for pointing...
