SRV records in Bind 8.2.4 for Active Directory?

I did find this on Microsoft's website, but it doesn't list the ports. Do I need them? Our AD installation is on a 2003 server. "On the non-dynamic DNS server that is authoritative for the zone with the name of the Active Directory domain, delegate the following zones to a Windows 2000-based...

    How do I disable VSP

How do I disable VSP for a windows client? We are running Netbackup Enterprise Server5.0 MP3 on Solaris? I've looked under the Host properties, and there isn't a checkbox to disable this feature. Just an exclude list that can be over ridden easily. Help! Thanks, Steve

    Mirroring Bootdisks?

Franz: Ok, I am slowly getting up to speed on this. Looks like I have to go with SVM... From what I understand (which isn't a whole lot at this point) :) , Since I have 8GB of Ram, I don't need the traditional 2xRam. What are your thoughts. Sun said about 1-2GB should be OK. All this box...

    V440 & Hardware Raid 5????

My V440 has (4) 72GB drives, and I was wondering if it is possible to do a hardware Raid 5 across them? If so, how would you go about doing it? If not, could you software Raid 5 all of them, or would one have to be a dedicated boot / OS disk? Thanks, Steve

    Mirroring Bootdisks?

Quick question: What is recommended if I am creating a backup server (Veritas) under Solaris 9 as far as disk configuration? I have a Sun V440 w/ (4) 72Gb drives. I need the space of 3 disks for data. Backup disk? Hotspare? Also would you recommend the Solaris Volume Manager or the Veritas...

    Solaris 9 Master/Media Server

I am in the process of building a Solaris 9 Master/Media Netbackup 5.0 server and was wondering a size consideration for the SWAP space on the box... The server itself is a V440 w/ (4) 1.02 GB processors & 8GB Physical Memory. We currently backup about 2.5TB of data, but that will soon expand...

    Samba Client for Solaris?

Thank you for your reply... I need to get the Solaris box to have a permanent mount to a Novell Samba Server, with the ability for the Novell box to place files on the Solaris Server. Apparently our Novell guy is telling us that their isn't a samba client for the Novell box, thus the reasoning...

    Samba Client for Solaris?

Hello all! I have been tasked with setting up a Samba client on Solaris. I've been scouring the internet and have either glossed over it by now or just can't find the info. I've downloaded and installed the packaged binary for Solaris already. I've got SWAT up and working, but other than...

    tai64nlocal

Hello! I run qmail with multilog and was wondering if there was a way to automatically & forever change the time stamp format by using the tai64 stuff. Any idea's on how to do this. I don't want to have to pipe the output of the file every time I want to see a date and time. Thank you, Steve

    Recommended Master Media Server

Thank you both for your responses... As far as LAN speed is concerned, I will have a minimum of 3 GB Ethernet cards, looking to see if the V440 could handle 4 of them. Trust me, I'd really like to go with FC drives, but the cost on the drives alone is roughly $4000 more than the SCSI version...
