It is windows xp Home Edition with no NIC card installed Brand new dell dimension. The error message is W32Time The windows time service was not able to find a Domain Controller. A time and date update was not possible. Why would it even look for a domain controller?

What about the settings for read/write/full control/ settintgs. Does read write access mean thaey could alter a file but not delete it? What's a good starting point for these?
