Okay,
Here's the scenario. I currently have an NT 4 SP6 server which has a pair of Maxtor 60gig ATA 133 drives currently hooked up, using a Maxtor controller card. Through a manual process using Norton Ghost, I clone physical drive #1 to physical drive #2 (drive #1 is logically partitioned...
Do I need to include anything like foxuser or any of the environment files in the .exe's directory? For example, I want to create an executable application, burn it to a cd, then install it from there on a machine that does not have foxpro installed. Up to now I've generated the .exe's...
Okay,
Here's a really stupid question. I've got FPW 2.6 and the Distrib. Kit, and would like to know the proper method for building a standalone .exe. I must be doing something fundamentally wrong, because the only way I can develop a working .exe is to put it the root C:\FPW26 directory...
Actually, I've written 'if exist' .bat script for the locating, deleting and moving of the file. I've set this up as a scheduled task in NT's administrative tools.
Thanks for the info.
That's IT! SUCCESS!
Just to recap the steps I took to successfully do this upgrade, here they are:
1. Ghost my 8 gig backup drive back to my 20 gig primary (Wednesday).
2. Cable originial drives in original location to onboard ATA.
3. Ghost my 20 gig drive back to 8 gig drive (Sunday, to...
Any suggestions or ideas would be welcomed.
The IT organization I work for requires that for any changes being made to any application, we must publish a turnover memo and put it into a public directory on our lan for it to be eventually included in a single turnover memo. The week following...
Just a quick update on where things stand. Took John's documentation with me to the site, and also had a standing appointment to work with a Maxtor tech (it IS their hardware and software that I'm having a problem with, after all). They suggested pulling out the installation CD and trying a...
John,
Thank you for your helpful suggestion. I'll be attempting to make these changes this evening, and will let you know the results. I had a lengthy discussion regarding this subject with a tech at Maxtor yesterday and we didn't even broach any of these possible solutions. In addition...
I've also posted this message in the NT Server forum, but being desperate for help, I'll post it here as well!
Any suggestions that anyone has will be greatly appreciated! I have an NT4 server (SP6a) that currently has two drives, a 20 gig Western Dig. (boot drive) and an 8 gig seagate. I use...
Any suggestions that anyone has will be greatly appreciated! I have an NT4 server (SP6) that currently has two drives, a 20 gig Western Dig. (boot drive) and an 8 gig seagate. I use Norton Ghost to clone the primary drive to the secondary drive (although it's larger, there's less than 8 gig of...
Thanks for responding. I do of course understand that a majority using VFP have probably been those who've followed the 'upgrade path' although there are undoubtably those (such as myself) who may have made the quantum jump with full installs from one to another (in my case, it was a...
Not to dissuade you from doing this in Foxpro, but is your mainframe system IBM MVS? If so, you can take advantage of the SMTP/TCP IP abilities to send emails directly out of the mainframe. I develop applications in Foxpro as a side job, but my principal work focus is as a COBOL P/A in the IBM...
Any former Foxpro 2.6 for Windows developers who have migrated to VFP have a no longer used copy of Foxpro 2.6 For Windows Professional they'd be willing to sell? I'm looking to buy.
Thanks in advance!
Scott
I'm trying to generate a monthly mailing printed on fan-fold postcard stock (the stock is old) and none of the pre-defined paper types match the size of the stock I'm using. How can I specify the paper type? I've created the report file with the correct dimensions for the paper but have had no...
