Win98 second edition - password function does not work
You can set-up a password that will control access to your computer but to access the CMOS settings you have to press the DEL key rather than the F10 key during start up. Data error stops boot-up
You may have a damaged or incirrectly installed drive. As it has been allocated a drive letter it is probably seen OK in CMOS and correctly assigned as a slave drive but you could run through that again. Next stage is to get the DM (disc manager) and diagnostic programme from the HDD...- scotilla
