We are just starting to launch our customized CE application, which currently hosts 250+ scheduled reports. These reports use a SQL 2000 DB as their datasource. That datasource is updated every month with a new release (new data items, new columns, etc.).
Does anyone know if CE 8.5 has a...
We are in the process of converting all our end-users from individual MS Access tables and Impromptu files. They are accustomed to being able to select from a lot of data. We are in the development phase, with just a handful of pilot users. Once we start getting some feedback from the end-users...
Anybody have any wisdom as to when CAP 9.0 is due out? It seems to have alot of features I'm waiting for (it also has a rudimentary querying tool as well which our endusers would love)...
and thanks for the help!
Thanks, Rich. I had seen it working, but now you mention it, I bet it was a CAP 9.0 demo.
We're using a MS Analysis Services-created cube off a SQL data warehouse. I was trying not to hide some dimensions during cube creation, because I'd like to use a cube for more than one business unit, and...
Hey gurus -- I have a cube that has about 20 dimensions. I want to design a report that allows the end-user to only see 10 of those dimensions. I can't (of course) fit them all on the worksheet, so I want them to be at the bottom of the worksheet in the Slice Dimension Panel so that the users...
I'm needing to write a formula that will take a given date of a data record and return what week number in the year it falls in. For example: 12/31/01 would be week #53.
Thanks for your help.
We checked into Cizer as a cost-effective alternative to Crystal Enterprise, and found that Cizer right now is compatible only with Crystal Reports 7.0. They stated that when they upgrade to support CR 8.0/8.5, their pricing structure will be in line with what Crystal is asking...so no cost...
Anyone out there know anything about Cizer and their "streaming analytics" software that supposedly is a comparable product to Seagate Info/Enterprise? And the licensing fees are dramatically lower? Looks intriguing, but wonder if anyone knows if they live up to their promises...thanks!
I was told by Crystal folks that the export to Excel will never be clean, unless the fields in the Crystal report are exactly lined up and aligned the way the Excel report should look. If you have a field as a group header that is extended over other detail fields below it (for example), Excel...
We currently are using CR 7.0 and alpha-testing Info 7.0. We know we need to upgrade to CR 8.5, and wonder if anyone has encountered any compatibility issues with Info 7.5, which we will also need to upgrade to?
Thanks!
I was with some Crystal Decisions folks yesterday in a user group meeting and the question of licensing came up in regards to Crystal Enterprise (the successor to Info). You can either get named licenses (for $595 each), concurrent licenses, or a combo of both. Using as an example 25 concurrent...
Ken, (1) which formula would you modify and how; and (2) now I'm told there are other names with first initial/full middle name/last name. <sigh> Thinking I should have left well-enough alone...
I'm just not sure how to accommodate all the various permutations of folks' names...?
Thanks as always, Ken. You are good. I took out the wildcard (of course now I realize I didn't need it!) and the names are coming in terrific.
Now if I want to keep middle initials in on other reports (for names distinguished only by middle initials) do you have a suggestion as to how best to...
I know this question must come up often, but I can't seem to locate the answer. I'm working in CRD v.7.0, and bringing in a field that has first name/middle initial/last name and want to format it last name first. I get this done by the following formula (called @UpperOriginator)...
