There are lots of ways of doing this, using IBM FlashCopy or just using TSM, or a combination of the two. You haven't provided enough detail for me to be more specific, but that should give you a start. Talk to your TSM supplier.

See what performance you get when remote mirroring is turned off.
Write cache is designed to buffer small random writes. If you do sequential writes the cache will flood and will actually slow it down.
I think v9.16 of the Storage Manager code might auto-tune the cache management? but you can...
Hi, DS300 is a very slow system. IBM has now withdrawn this model (and the DS400) after only 12 months in the field.
They have been replaced with the *much* faster DS3000 but the iSCSI model (DS3300 won't be available until June).
I have been involved in a a couple of DS300 situations and...
Hi, on a DMX800, can disk firmware be upgarded on a RAID set by RAID set basis, or does the whole DMX800 need to take an outage? (Not talking about controller firmware).
Thanks.
Yes DCE (Dynamic Capacity Expansion) which is expansion of the RAID array, and DVE (Dynamic Voluem Expansion) are both supported in v8 of Storage Manager.
Definitely worth considering creating a second array however, if the host OS has some sort of LVM support.

I think it depends on the version of IBM FAST Storage Manager that you are running. v7 didn't allow dynamic reconfig, but v8 does. I think you can download v8.3 at no charge from the ibm website.

OK, I took the VFP8 plunge, and found the app kind of ran, but looked ugly and some bits still didn't work (format files).
But I have realised the whole thing can be made into a very simple app by redesigning with VFP8, and so far it's been much more pleasant than my MS Access experiences.
I...
I have added READ EVENTS as described, but the problem persists. i.e. I can run this as an app, I can run it as an exe (run after build) from within VFP8, but if I try to run it as an executable outside of VFP8 it flashes past and terminates.
My main is wofstart.prg

I'm new to VFP. I have a DBASEIV app which I have just tried to run under VFP8. The program contains a code sequence as follows. When it hits APPEND, VFP seems to go into an infinite loop of appending records to the table. I was expecting it to APPEND a single record and open an edit screen. I...
My own experience of trying to move from DBASE IV to dBASE 5 is that it's not at all straight forward. If you have Say/Get code in your dBASE IV you may be better off moving to Visual FoxPro.
