Multiple rcp script
Does anyone have any idea of how I can make a multiple rcp script more robust in terms of ensuring complete files are copied. It uses a dedicated backup network and the directories being copied are quite large hence why the rcp's are run in background as opposed to being run sequentially. An...- ruzwan

Cut from a specified point
Can you cut from a specified point and then work backwards. eg. 240109603749 3615 3615 D P 0 N 85157523749 3616 3616 D P 0 N 176456503749 3617 3617 D P 0 N The 3749 is constant at the end of field one. I need to work back from 3749 and grep the pid number before the 3749. Thanks -

.profile in users home directory had no issues. Some users got on some didn't. There are no links in there. Paging space was 8% used and sar showed no performance issues and topas didn't highlight anything either. -

On one of our LPARS on a p/690 running AIX 5.1 ML 3 we get users hanging after the message of the day.
