Thank you both for your insightful information.
I am in the "throws" of the remaining tasks prior to executing the upgrade; backups and last minute tweaks.
I appreciate your time and will keep you posted as to my progress.

Great post NDC.
Here is what I will do....
1. Run the Domain and Forest Prep on the remaining DC
2. Upgrade the OS on the Exchange Server to 2k3 (member server)
3. Upgrade Ex2k to Ex2k3 (following your previous post)
4. Upgrade the DC to 2k3
Since I am down to one DC and one Ex2k server, how...
Thanks NDC,
I do have an Exchange 2k server, and was planning on moving it to Ex2k3 after I promote my DC's - (I demoted all but one...).
For clarity, I should run the prep now, prior to the DC 2k upgrade and NOT after, when I upgrade the EX2k to EX2k3.
Correct?
Simple question, sorry if it has been asked already....
I am planning on upgrading my 2k DC to a 2k3 DC...
In a Domain with a single Domain Controller, do you need to run ADPrep or just upgrade the DC from 2k to 2k3?
Thanks,
Rick

I applied the XP templates to the GPO and made sure the GPO was configured properly. No other...

My Boss, the big man of the company, had me set up his home and laptop computer to dial into our network using RAS.
I configured his Outlook (2000 and 2002) to check mail on our Exchange 2000 server.
The desktop (at home) connected and pulled all the email in Inbox.
The laptop pulled whatever...

Thanks Alex,
I checked the .man permissions, and the permissions set on all the contents of the folder, including the parent. All are the same.
The other users do pick the mandatory setting, but not the configuration which is the strange thing.
Any thoughts?
Rick
I created a local profile. Configured it the way I want - desktop, start menu etc. I logged on as an admin and copied the profile to a share on my server. \\servername\profile$\folder. I changed the .dat to .man and configured 25 user profiles in AD to pull the profile from the server.

I would agree with hewissa and bwilliam in this situation. Block the users at the router. Or more specifically filter the ip addresses of the statically configured machine.
Unless, what detroit is saying is that it is to apply to specific users, whereas what Matt had said, using gpo's would...
