I am an end user that only has the ability to read from the database. Stored procedures cannot be added to the db. The db is an intersystems cache database. do you know how far back that old post was? i can review it to see if there is something i can use. thanks

you have nothing just in case there is a null value in the field. I have found that if there are null values and you do not compensate that there is a null value you get no data.

I figured out what was going on. The programmer sent a spec over indicating the values will have "~" splitting the data. When i was testing output, I noticed it was using "&" . I modified the formulas and it worked. thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
