Reboot Cycles constantly with no end including safe mode

Hi There is a Trojan which puts aouple of dozen shutdowns into the scheduled tasks list. I cannot remember the name but it does come in a popup window prior to shutdown. If this is the problem then go to Scheduled Tasks and delete these tasks. Their names are short and stand out very clearly Roy

    Autoexec.nt Problems

I had a problem with AUTOEXEC.NT for a long time (XP Pro SP2), the file was being removed on a reboot. I took a copy from another pc and simply copied it each time the problem arose. I got a bit fedup doing this so I tried setting AUTOEXEC.NT to read only and bingo no further problems Roy

    Linksys PCMPC200 PC Card

Hello All The PCMPC200 PC Card is SCO certified hardware for os5.0.7 - at last I thought a networked notebook running os5! Can anyone suggest where I find the driver? It isn't listed in the default os5.0.7 LAN list and Linksys don't appear to have anything. Roy Thomas

    My Program

Gaz, You need to declare all the symbols used in main() before they are used in the calls. That will get rid of the Error 26s. Roy

    can not contact SAC

TruPort is a Stallion Technologies multiport system. We have tried killing, restarting, removing and adding with sacadm with no effect. Each box runs 16 serial ports and the problem is at the box level so pmadm won't help. The first stage is that the status of the TruPortn entry goes UNKNOWN...

    SCO 3Com Etherlink configuration problem

Maybe the easiest solution is to disable the on-board 3Com and add a PCI card. Roy Thomas

    can not contact SAC

Thanks JorGeVaL The immediate problem with sac is solved by killing the sac pid. It then respawns and works normally. The problem remaining is that we haven't managed to restart the TruPort entry which caused the sac problem in the first place. This still requires a reboot. Roy

    Converting FAT32 to NTFS

Another thing to think about. When converting from FAT32 to NTFS the cluster size is set to 2k and I don't think even Partition Magic can change this value. You have to format the partition to change it, when the default is 4k Roy

    can not contact SAC

Running unixware 7.1.1 with Stallion Easyserver/TruPort installed. Having switched the easyserver units off/on a few times and then killing/restarting the TruPorts with sacadm I have finally ground to a halt. # sacadm -l ... quite a long delay and then:- # can not contact SAC I am certain...

How do I get a unique line or port number returned from SCO Unix?

I am not certain why Brian needs this info but I posted something somewhat similar some time ago and got no response. We have applications which relate the port tty id to a screen attribute table entry (Thoroughbred apoplications). Our requirement is that if you have say 64 telnet logins...

It is also important to use a twisted pair for the signal pins 3 & 6, normally green & white/green. Roy

changing sco 5.0.5 timezone to BST

In System Time Manager set Geographical area to 'Europe', European timezone to 'Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)' and Daylight savings to 'Yes'. Your time should then display as BST. You may have to set the time again. Roy

Install 3com nic fails via netconfig

If it is a 905 series nic then you will probably need to add new drivers to both 5.0.4 and 5.0.5. I had this in early 2001 for the 905C-TX card, 5.0.6 was OK. Roy

    Unixware 7 PATH

Not changed anything as far as I am aware. The same situation has occurred on another UW7 system as well That one is actually a NSC system and I didn't build it! But as you say it is doing what I want. Thanks again Tony Roy
