    "backdoor" access?

Thanks Trotski. I have the manuals (and software ;) but the documentation is pretty cryptic (coming from a system/network/database admin that's pretty bad). I'll take your advice as my starting point and see what I can do. I'm not to comfortable with the local guys, I don't feel they're...

    Proper Restart Procedure KX-TD1232 w/TVS

Thanks. The battery backup (inline) is old and is probably due to be replaced. Neither of our 1232's need to be rebooted more than twice a year generally.

    "backdoor" access?

My boss said that at a previous job their phone system was setup in such a way that normal incoming calls (from customers, etc.) are answered by an operator while incoming calls from another branch could go through their voicemail/automated-attendant. Is this sort of thing possible with a...

    Proper Restart Procedure KX-TD1232 w/TVS

I have 2 1232's, one with a TVS100 and one with a TVS200. Every so often they do strange things and need to be 'rebooted'. My question is: what is the proper restart procedurre? I have basically been waiting until everybody's off the phone, shutting the power to the 1232, shutting the TVS...

    Extreme Paging Volume (KXTD-1232)!

Is there a way to lower the paging volume on a KXTD-1232? Background Music plays at a nice level but pages come through WAY too loud! This is over both an amplified PA system AND over Panasonic XDP phones as well. The volume level on the phones is as LOW as it will go and still it's too loud...

KXTD-1232 Dropping Calls in AA Mode

Ah, right, we talked about so many things that afternoon. I did attach to the system and log those for a while but I couldn't remember just what it was that I was looking for! LOL! I was hoping something would become apparent. Well, something DID become apparent, the line stopped working...

How to close VPN tunnel on PIX501?

I have successfully established VPN tunnels between my PIX501s (3 sites messed) but I want to manually bring one of the links down for further testing. How can I terminate one tunnel without disrupting the other? I've been looking all over the web and have not been able to find a solution to...

KXTD-1232 Dropping Calls in AA Mode

So get this, it looks like all along it was a LOOSE WIRE!!! The problem eventually went from intermittent to persistant which made it a bit easier to track down. Then I was able to determine which line was the problem and check all the wires. It was a bad connection at one of our punch-down...

3 Site VPN Web Config with PIX501s?

Thank you, I'll check it out. Actually I got the damn thing working. It turned out, apparently, that reapplying the command: crypto map outside_map interface outside did the trick. At least I THINK that's what did it. Does this sound right? Either way I'll check out the example just to be...

3 Site VPN Web Config with PIX501s?

I have 3 sites that all have static IPs and PIX501s. I want to connect each site to each other site via VPN but I am having trouble connecting two of the sites for some reason even though the config is virtually identical to one that IS working. Can anyone point me to a document that decribes...

KXTD-1232 Dropping Calls in AA Mode

I'm not sure I followed the solution. What are you proposing I do? The PBX unit has a modem in it. I can setup a modem on my PC if need be and dial in but I usually access the system via RS-232. Can you explain? Thanks for all your help!

KXTD-1232 Dropping Calls in AA Mode

So it turns out our Loop Current is indeed high (according to Sandman's article). Our currents are all right around 40-milliAmps. I'm am thinking of buying Sandman's Loop Current Attenuators (http://www.sandman.com/loop.html). My questions: Does anybody know of a competitive (read: less...
