This is an example : The router 1 is in standby and the router 2 is active.

To have a perfect redundancy you need to have a pair of routers with a T1 card each one, but if you don´t have it, you can use one single one with two T1 cards.
In both cases you only need two single T1 Card, not a dual T1 Card.

Try yo use a crossover cable between the pix and the router.
Be sure the ethernet interfaces on the pix and the router are UP (perform a no shut into the interface configuration)
Try to connect your laptop directly to the pix and look if the pix ethernet interface change up...

For the windows box you can use yats (use google to find it). You can sync the windows box and the cisco router with the NIST http://tf.nist.gov/service/its.htm this is free.
