What Dan said, I reckon that'd be the easiest way to skin this one. I know sod all about doing clever stuff with exchange but on a Linux Mail Server that'd be a fairly trivial thing to get done.

I also heard the chip rumour. We've had some on order since Mid Feb and are still awaiting delivery of them.

I think you have to have the unit in either routed/transparent mode so you dont really have a choice.
You can however setup a NAT rule that translates your external IP to the same external IP but on the inside interface. That should do what you're trying to achieve and let you have the...
Nagios is excellent for near realtime alerts (few minutes). For capacity planning/trending Cacti is also very good.
Running the two in tandem can give you an excellent overview of your enviroment.

Not sure with Dell servers - you might find info by looking around /proc or /proc/scsi/scsi but generally not going to get lots of info... Is there a Dell utility loaded onto the server - HP servers have the cpqarray utility which lets you see the disk info.
My bet though is your guy in Paris...
I was about to suggest DRBD & Heartbeat but Geirendre has done that before me :)
Its smart stuff and I've used it in production.
DRBD acts like a RAID1 Mirror over the network (dedicated GigE NIC on each machine with x-over would be a good config).
Heartbeat fails the services (i.e...
I'd go with the suggestions above, involving your network/firewall team/guys will be beneficial.
If you have/work to something like BS7799/ISO27001 then this should certainly be raised.
I would look at SSL as a mandatory requirement for this solution to go forward, who is responsible for the...
I agree with Daver on the point about Webmin Security. It is afterall, it is a web interface which runs ontop of a webserver.
That means its an application ontop of a webserver running with root perms (or even suexec - i dont know the ins and outs of webmin).
SSH on the other hand is a secure...
Can you post the output of lsusb, if the device is in the list (which based on the output above i think it will) then RHEL has picked it up.
From here you'll have to figure out where its been assigned to (i.e. /dev/sda potentially).
From there you'll need format it and then mount it somewhere...
Gotta love the name of your email account :)
have you tried the following on the machine with outlook - and the RH server if you have ssh access;
From the Server;
telnet localhost 110
user $username
pass $pass
stat
If you can get on here then all is well with the server; try the client :)...
I worked a lot in System Admin roles and got bored with the never ending same old that came along.
I ended up leaving my old Job about 6 months ago and now work as a solutions architect.
It leverages all my skills and as well as doing the pre-sales type thing and working with the client at the...
Certainly not, however when running internet facing servers it can be wise to Firewall everything with a seperate Hardware Firewall and only allow access to specific services (i.e. 80 & 443) unless your on VPN.
Admittedly its OTT for most things but i've been in several scenarios where its...
AwStats can certainly do a daily view - it gives an hourly breakdown as well.
I thought you clicked on the Hyperlink under each day of the month to get into the daily view.

Hi Smah,
Using NFS isn't the best idea, purely because of its reliability and performance. Under heavy load you would certainly notice problems.
I've seen it used sucessfully on smaller installs but i would never recommend it.
Ideally, ensure that the FE machine is secured by a Firewall...
As changlinn says, use a script to block users. I notice in the article that the author says this will create a big list of blocked IP's.
Also change the SSH port to something obscure as well - this will stop bots which cause most of the log entries - if not all.
If you want to do it properly...
