Hi mewa maxdsiz is set at the default of 64 MB. I will increase it and see if that resolves the problem. As it is a live 24x7 system it is hard to find a time to reboot. A lot of negotiation with users, but I will try to schedule the changes for tonight. Thanks for your help. If any other ideas...

You probably have a tcp/ip setting wrong somewhere, possibly a subnet mask. The subnet mask on the linux machine is probably different to the subnet mash on the other machines. Richard richard@brecon.co.uk

Lets have a look at your /etc/resolv.conf file.

You don't give ip address of windows machine, it must be 222.222.222.xxx if you are using the default class c subnet mask.
