Why not use a batch file creating the shares again?
Run it at startup, add a sleep timer for xx seconds and make all the shares again.
If the main server was up and running in time, the shares will already be active and otherwise, they should be now.

Hi,
Thanks for your replies.
In my case it wasn't a IE7 problem because Firefox 2.x had the same problem.
The good news is that it's working again at home. I ended up re-installing several programs and after I re-installed my vpn client it suddenly worked again.
I did this before I read the...

Hi,
Is there a way to monitor or log the changes that are made in the permissions on a file or folder ?
So if I set permissions to a folder I want to know when someone else makes changes to them.
Is this possible in Windows or with the use of additional software ?
Thanks,
Richard
Hi,

Hi,
Our NT4 PDC server has 2 networkadapters because we have a separate lan for our backup.
Can this cause any problems because I thought I heard or read somewhere that this can cause a problem.
Anyone got any info about this ?
Thanks,
Richard
Yes ! Problem solved.
The DNS list showed no strange IP addresses for the server but when I looked at Wins there was no list.
But then I noticed that I had to search for a server to showup in Wins and I found some strange addresses for multiple servers which all have dual nics now.
I removed...
My W2K server was already installed with 2 nics and File and print sharing and Client for Microsoft Networks are enabled on both cards.
I did see different IP addresses in the DNS list and DHCP list so maybe that has something to do with at as well.
Haven't got the chance yet to reboot the...

We have a NT4 domain with several Windows 2000 servers in it. Last weekend we installed some Windows security updates on several servers. Nothing special about this so far.

Problem is that we don't have the enterprise manager.
MSSQL was installed with a program so no tools available.
I guess enterprise manager is not available for legal download somewhere ?
Hi,
We use a programme which came with a MS SQL Server (8.0.760).
I noticed that sqlserv.exe consumes a lot of memory, so much that there is no memory left.
I was wondering if it is possible to limit the amount of memory that sqlserv.exe uses. We don't have any management tools for mssql so I...
Hi,
We use ISA Server 2000. We have 2 users that need to have an internet connection for a specific program but the management don't want them to have access to the entire internet.
So I was wondering if it is possible that these users only have access to 1 or 2 websites and block everything...
