well the easiest way would be change in sms to boot from networks all u need to add is the ip and network device then nim master should pick it up.once that is done it will boot from the nim image for the machine.then u can change the os the way u like.

looks like you have a corrupted odm, i could be wrong .the error you getting is saying that the CuAt (customised attributes) library cannot find the ethernet card description to allow you to perfom changes.
i suggest reinstalling your operating system.try to get hold of AIX 433 cd's boot...
check your /etc/inittab entry for rc.tcpip. this should restart you tcpip daemon if it dies.
this is what the entry should look like :
rctcpip:2:wait:/etc/rc.tcpip > /dev/console 2>&1 # Start TCP/IP daemons

try disabling cde then reboot.see what the effect is,or disable networks reboot see what effect is.this will help you narrow down your problem.cde is network bound.check you filesystems is not full,this will also create problems.
