While attempting to upgrade a 9i repository (9.0.2.5) to 10g, I encountered an error. I followed Oracle's SCM Repository Installation Guide for the 10g developer suite steps for 'Upgrading a Release 6i or 9i Repository' to 10g. Since this error suggested that I may have made an error during...
Ken, you gave me a clue when you mentioned "start-up" code. I looked through the modules and found one that guided the user through locating the database if the app could not find it. That was the source of the "IFTS Data File" message I referred to above. When I re-tried the conversion, I...
A further update re the problem I am having.
I followed lameid's advice exactly this time running msaccess.exe twice (once for the application .mdb and once for the data .mdb) to do the decompile in the folder in which it is located and referenced my .mdb qualified by the path. It worked!
But...
I tried to run the decompile but Access could not find the database file. I verified the spelling a couple of times. I ran the command from within a DOS window having selected the folder that the database was in. Should I have run the command from the folder that msaccess was in and specified...
Thanks for your response Lamar. I have tried to import from the split database/application but get conversion errors stating that Access was unable to refresh the split database tables (I have some tables in the application .mdb and some in the database .mdb). The database .mdb reported was...
I have an Access 97 application that is split between its code and database. I am having difficulty in converting it to Access 2002. I would like to convert both the database and the application. When I startup the application under Access 2002, it asks if I want to convert. I choose this...
Thanks for this Ken! This particular DoCmd is not available when I am in 'debug' mode although it appears to work fine in non-debug mode. Is there an alternative way I can save the current record that is available in debug mode?
Richard
I have just gotten around to trying the .Refresh and guess what - I was using that all the time and it doesn't work!
Here's what I am doing. I navigate to an empty (new) record in the recordset, choose a new entry from my combo box and would like to see that new entry reflected in a list of...
Hi TheAceMan1 and thanks for the info! I shall use the "If Me.NewRecord Then..." construct to prompt the user to save the new record.
Thanks again,
Richard
Thanks PHV, you can see that I'm not up to speed with all of the Access command/function options. Requery sounds obvious now you mention it! I've been looking for a dictionary of commands/functions with all of the flavours but, as yet, have not been able to find one - either hard or soft copy...
Hi fellow Access users,
In Access XP, when the user is filling out the fields for a new record on a form, one of the options I have is to go to a child form to fill out some detail there. My experience with Access shows that this new 'child' form only works well if the parent form has added...
Hi experts,
In Access XP, I show a list of 'candidates' that are the result of a query view of a table. The same form allows the user to add a new candidate to the view but when that is done, the list is not automatically refreshed to include the new candidate. Using the .Refresh only helps...
At the risk of closing my own thread before anyone else has responded, I do have an update.
The porblem mentioned above occurs consitently but only (it seems) when I have the CD Rom drive installed. I removed it a week or so ago, and when I run NAV now, it runs to completion with no errors...
