Not quite. You have to stop the Indexing Service and then delete the catalog from within the Management Console - this will delete the catalog.wci file for you (I'm not sure if it removes the folder too though). Then restart Indexing Service and create a new catalog - at this point Indexing...
What exactly happens? Does the recipient of the POST run and get no data? Or does the recipient (asp page) not run at all? Does this happen for all virtual servers or just the default? Ditto for virtual directories.
More info please :-)

You cannot change the location for an existing catalog, so you have to delete the existing catalog and create a new one. When you create a catalog Index Server asksk for it's name and location.

The extension is irrelevant - it simply tells IIS what to do with a file. Your web server is configured so that files with a .cgi extension are loaded into the Perl interperator, we have our configured so that .pl (and .plx) files are executed by Perl. It could as easily be configured to execute...
OK, but there is no problem with having a space in the foldername. To prove this (to myself!) I've just created a folder called "new folder" on drive D, created a virtual directory on the server called "a b" and put a "hello world" script in it. I set the...
It is the catalog that is created by Index Server. If you want to delete it you will have to stop Index Server before you can delete catalog.wci then reconfigure Index Server to use drive D:

Nope, it makes no sense as CGI scipts will run in folders with spaces in their names!
I suspect it was a different problem which was solved by moving folders. Without any further info I can only speculate, but I guess it was most likely to have been a permissions thing.
Glad to hear it's...
But that won't work if the user tries to go to www.domain.com/intranet/folder/
Try this instead assuming that there is nothing left of www.domain.com - in other words all the files and folders have been moved to the new server. Set up a custom 404 page on the old address which is an ASP that...
This is strange.
I have always used Terminal Services to connect to our web servers. As a matter of course I use Perfmon (running on the server) to monitor the web servers (and SQL Servers) to see how busy they are. Three of the parameters from the ASP objectI monitor are:
- "Request...
I had a very similar problem where IE5 wouldn't run soI upgraded to IE6. This didn't solve the problem so I simply re-installed Win98 and then installed IE6.

No it's not. The error message
"The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers" means one of two things:
1. The CGI script had compilation error(s). Run the locally (ie not via a web browser) to find out what (syntax) errors are preventing the...
You don't say what sort of files these are. If you have the ability to modify the files and they are HTML files then it may be that you can add META information to them and use META searches to improve accuracy.
If speed is an issue then look at putting Index Server on it's own dedicated server...
Yes, I have the log files configured correctly - daily logs are usually approx 100Mb. As this was a Sunday the log file was only 2 or 3 Mb. I don't for one minute beleive we actually had that many users (!) I think it was PerfMon getting itself confused, but I was interested to know if anyone...
Yes you can. In MMC right-click on "Directories" and choose New | Directory then simply specify the UNC path to the resource you want to index.
