At least there's no pressure then ;-)
I agree that the Watchguard documentation needs some more thought and can be confusing in areas where there are several ways of doing things (VPN's for example).
Anyway, what you want to do is pretty straight forward and Version 7 of the software...
Here's some pointers:
First thing is that the SOHO's need to be either the 'tc' models or need to have been upgraded for VPN use.
You should then select one of your FB700's as a 'hub' (usually the one situated at your HQ) and the two SOHO's and the remaining FB700 become the spokes for your...

I'm doing exactly this at the moment, starting with exactly the same level of expertise as you, with mixed results.
Im currently trying to set up home broadband users using a technique to create more secure tunnels than the standard ones. Check my post "Main mode with MUVPN and a...

ashleym - Mapping with ip addresses does not work.
bugz1 - Client for MS networks is checked in DUN.
Are you both running WINS servers on your networks?
I think I've read every FAQ and forum post going on this topic but still am a little bit in the dark with regard to the role of WINS in an Active Directory, Win2K domain when using the MUVPN client through a Firebox 700.
My small network uses Active Directory DNS and I have no need for WINS...
Been wrestling with this for a couple of days now and would really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance if you come to the rescue.

Just saw this post afer replying to your other post on my Active / Passive Slow Failover thread.
I'd bet it's your Powervault SCSI interfaces as I described in that post. You'll need to buy a couple from Dell for about £500.
Hope it goes well.

Yes they do see the Powervault as one storage source. The cabling is straight forward, just one SCSI cable from each server to one of the SCSI interfaces on the Powervault.
So.. Your problem will lie in one of two places. Firstly make sure that the SCSI interfaces in your...
I'm sure that what I am about to describe already has a text book description (that I can't find) but I would really appreciate some feedback on the following approach that I am considering for a SQL server 2000, Win32 client application.
Instead of following the 'vanilla' route of ADO.NET...
Any help with this would be great:

The Speedtouch has an active DHCP server that is giving out addresses in the range 10.0.0.x and this works fine.
I have added the Airstation on...
Thanks guys
I still can't get there though even after spending ages checking all of the permissions as you describe. To summarise again and attempt to clarify, the two problems are:
Problem 1
1) Unless I make a standard user a member of the Administrators group, they get the following error...
Thanks for replying wbg
Yes I checked the folder Share tab permissions and they are on the default 'Everyone Full Access'
I figured that the strategy should be to leave the sharing permissions on this default and only use the Security tab's permissions to add the required users and their...
Also
When doing a test scenario of creating a folder with a simple text file in it and attempting to read it from a client, a network drive can be mapped and modifying user specific permissions produces the expected results in terms of read write etc.
However, when I create a new security...
Thanks ricky but I tried that.
Even went as far as giving the security group 'Full Control' but it still wont let me access the folder.
I have tried browsing to the folder using its UNC path in Explorer and again this only works with an administrative user account. The domain user account...
