I just passed my 640-801 and wanted to get some advice on going after the CCDA. I have heard that if you can pass the CCNA you are pretty close to being able to pass the CCDA.
Is this true and what study materials are good for CCDA.
Or should I scrap design and start on CCNP?

This is hard not having the ability to lay hands on the router but the tech is copying down the configs and sending them to me.
He ran sh ip route and got
Gateway of last resort is not set
I am going to have him change the static route to the serial interface and try again.

well bringing up the interface was correct as was removing the no ip routing command, but the tech still cant ping past the wan interface. Here is a copy of the running config. Let me know if you see anything

I have created the same config on the new 3620 but when I plug in the T1 link the interface dosent come up. Does my ISP have to clear some arp cache or some other cache for me to switch routers? Basic config, static route to my isp and same encapsulation as on the old router. When I plug the...
found the problem
according to cisco TAC the image was too big for RAM, it was compressed enough to fit on the 32 meg of flash but when it de-compressed it was too big to load all of it into ram so it just hung. tried a smaller image and had no problems

ok new problem. I finally got the image uploaded to the router and I went in and changed the confreg back to 0x2102 and rebooted and now I get

yeah i dont think there is an image to begin with. This is the first "new" router I have worked on. I am now pushing an ios image to it thru xmodem. Is that the preferred way to push a first time image to a router?

I am setting up a new 3620 router and i cant get it to boot to the initial configuration. It keeps boothing to the rommon prompt. I have changed the confreg 0x2142 and back to 0x2102 and i get the same results.
any ideas?

I have been studying using the CCNA Exam #640-507 Sertification Guide, it appears that it is really behind the current test. What would you recommend as THE book to read before taking this test.The 507 book is full of IPX so I dont want to waste time studying that and miss out on other material...
