Thanks for your reply I finally gave up on the DLINK, its a device I've used to connect directly to a laptop for a long time but it seems doesn't seem to like some routers. Even the way I was getting as far as I was I was having to be a bit devious with cloning the mac as it doesn't directly...- Rebsbox

I'm testing a 200r on a Dlink 300G dsl modem. I've copied the mac from the nic that I used to setup the Dlink into the 200r. I have a static IP but as I usually do I set it to use DHCP, which does seem to work on the symantec as it has the IP address, gateway and dns pulled from the ISPs DHCP...- Rebsbox
