    IWR drill thrus

Thanks Cognoise I think I solved the problem. It looks like some of the calculated fields in the drill-thru report must also exist in the main report. It is strange, but this acts something like the powerplay drill thrus. I had to redo the drill thru - basically made a copy of the main report...

    IWR drill thrus

I have dealt with IWRs and drill thrus for a number of years. Somtimes, I notice that a particulr report's drill-thru comes up blank (it used to work before). The problem does not get solved even if I republish or even rename the folder, the reports etc before publishing. Does anybody know...

Writing SQL statements directly in IMPROMPTU

Thanks DrLex. That was really something. Question: Can this sql (in Magic Query) be edited and re-edited?

    Cascading Prompts On Same Page

Hi Bajwa, Yes, it can be done in one page, provided you use JavaScript or ASP (or something like that), and use frames. You can't do it using Cognos' Dynamo manager (I think). But using frame sets are pretty cumbersome. Rgds

    Cascading Prompts problem

Thanks Dave, From your response it looks like I won't be able to get exactly what I want. For example, if I were to select only 2 managers, I would possibily get South, South, East, East in the second prompt. I was hoping, if I could get distinct values: South, East in the second prompt...

    Cascading Prompts problem

Hi there, I have researched into all the discussion on cascading prompts, and followed them. But I still have a problem. Here is the scenario, suppose: Prompt 1: Manager (I have a long list) Values: Tom, Harry, Jane Prompt 2: Area Values: North, South, East, West (A manager can have...

    MouseOver text

I have a question, and am not sure if it is possible to accomplish this in Impromptu (7.2)? Basically, what I would like is for the user to be able move the mouse over a particular ID (ID is a column in my imr) and a text bubble would show up and give a small description or comment about the...

    Close Access Thru Scheduler

Hi VBSlammer, That was really great. I just tested it out, and it works like a charm. Thanks a lot for your help and you deserve a star, the reason being, I have more or less searched this and other sites, and many have offered solutions, but this was the most straight forward, and extremely...

    Compacting

I have a question on compacting. Originally, I had one db. But when I would run some macros, I would have to compact again in midprocess. The macros run series of queries that bulid tables, and append to existing tables. So, I broke it up into a frontend and backend. The backend still need to...

    Close Access Thru Scheduler

Hi, I use the Hal scheduler to compact and run some macros. How would I use the scheduler (or the Windows scheduler) to close Access completely. I tried using Application.Quit acQuitSaveAll in the scheduler, but it just doesn't do anything (no errors, and doesn't close it). Is there a macro...

    Distinct Counts

Well, you can insert a calculated filed in the header of your report, and use a formula like this count(Distinct(ID)) where ID is a field. --Ram
