Hi all,
I want to create some sort of logging proxy server.
How can I:
1.
Load multiple client sockets on the fly
2.
Send incoming data from one (client) socket out through another, already open (server) socket?
I don't know how to get back on a socket that is already open.
I'm sure you...
Maybe something to look after is: Isn't the moment where the DHCP lease auto-renews the IP-settings of a box, the moment that it goes wrong?
In other words: maybe the auto-renew is a bit faulty on the boxes. (Could be a DHCP server problem)
Setting a new renew interval might solve the problem...
Er.. NTFS does not need a lot of defragging...
But the fileserver copies a 700 MB Image over the network within 1,5 minute... so I don't think the server or network are (too) slow.
You've most probably done this right already, but I'll try it anyway...
Authenticated Users shouldn't be able to apply the policy either.
Domain Admins are ofcourse also Authenticated users and will apply the policy.
hosts.sam you say...
For the best of my knowledge there is yet another file for static host configuration.
On Win2k it is in winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
I know that Win98 has also a file called hosts in a drivers directory.. maybe this solves the problem.
You could also install a WINS...
The largest profile I can find is 3 MB.
We've started with fresh Win2K profiles, on a fresh Win2K AD
The strange thing about it all, is that loading a profile takes at most 3 to 6 seconds...
It's just the saving of the profile that takes so long.
It does save the profiles, so I don't think...
I have a few speed problems... maybe somebody has an idea...
Our organisation uses Exchange 2000 for Mail, we run our own DNS service.
Network usage is 0,7% of the total capacity (speed)
Mailserver usage is 10% of the total capacity (processor/mem/hdd)
Fileserver usage is 15% of the total...
We use a tool called "DAVE" from software developer Thursby

To make exchange working, you could add the AppleTalk protocol to your exchange server.
You'll notice that MS Outlook for Mac can also connect to the exchange server using AppleTalk...
The Second problem is solved...
My collegue sysop had reconfigured a NIC on the fileserver the wrong way.
The NIC was running, but at such a low speed that copying of a 10 MB file took 40 minutes to complete...
But that's solved now...
The NIC is now running again @ 1000 Mbit/FD.
HOWEVER...
We use Roaming profiles on a Win2k Active directory with about 60 workstations, 3 DC's, and a few member servers.
1. The saving of a profile takes about 70 seconds. Is this normal or is there something I can do to speed things up.
2. This morning people were unable to logon. The error message...
Hi there,
Our organisation runs a SQL 2000 server and an Exchange 2000 server.
When I try to install the backup agent for SQL 2000, the agent says that there is no SQL server running on that server. But it's all up and running.
The exchange backup agent displays that it's unable to fetch the...
I THOUGHT I figured it out...
Today I figured out that I didn't...
The #$&^@^ thing is still not working....
The Realtime monitor is disabled, and when I try to enable it permanently, it simply says: Could not save Realtime option settings
So... ANYBODY??
Thanx for your help guys!
I think I've got it working now...
Except for the auto-download that is....
'Till I get that figured out, i'll just update manually
