it does register some files using .net 2.0..really depends on what you are using on the terminal though and what has been flagged. For example, FPS (biometrics) needs .net 2.0 on the FOH terminal to register the class.
If you use RAL, it needs either .net 1.1 or 2.0, depending on version.
you changed the computer name of the fileserver...did you change the SERVER variable in the ibercfg.bat file on the terminals to match said name?
Also verify that the EDCPATH variable has also been changed to show the new server name.
bonro, if you use the current release of RAL, it supports adding the account you use for the service to each terminal for you as well as a new user account and removing the Aloha account.
oh and spooling is generally tied into the EDC service account on the server using the local system...
107 error is
OPOS_E_NOHARDWARE
Device is not connected or powered on
Reimaging this terminal will not help you if it is a physical hardware issue, i.e. MSR is on it's last hurrah. On a plus side though, you can replace just the MSR instead of buying a new terminal or spending a ton of money...
oh, one more thing to note..
if you set it to Radiant as the MSR type, it takes two refreshes for it to take effect..
Reason:
first refresh changes the type and adds an entry in the registry but won't work until the second refresh in order for that registry entry to be read.
Just an FYI in...
check the terminal type..
if it is set to Clone, change it to Radiant..refresh.
if it is set to Radiant, set it to Clone..refresh.
you really do not want to use keyboard wedge service but either OPOS or you can even use the Radiant as the type of the MSR. OPOS uses the P15xx driver set...
it actually depends on your hardware. You cannot just randomly name it in Aloha Manager either, it needs to match the name it has in the registry.
Look here on the terminal..It will ALWAYS be here if it was installed with the default settings, this is the standard...
check the ibercfg.bat file for the follwing commands..
Copy %localdir%\Newbin\*.* %localdir%\bin
Echo Y | Del %localdir%\Newbin\*.*
sounds like it is doing the first part but not the second part so the contents of the newbin are never being deleted after they copy to the bin folder, thus you...
sounds like EOD is being invoked by an event, set in Aloha Manager, to answer you last question. When the system date does not match the DOB in Aloha and the DOB is behind the system date, the event will fire, run EOD, reboot the terminal, then when it comes back up, run again until the DOB and...
I just installed it..
the key, assuming I got the right drivers will be this.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OLEForRetail\ServiceOPOS\MSR\MAGSWIPE_USBKB
if this is what your install shows, then the name you will use will be MAGSWIPE_USBKB
can you tell me the name of the MSR type, i.e. who makes it? Is it POSX? I can download the installer, install it, and give you the exact name you need to use if you run into trouble.
no it won't. You have to manually type in the name.
when you install OPOS on the terminal, OPOS creates a registry entry/key generally found @ HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\OLEForRetail\ServiceOPOS\MSR
under the MSR is a subkey with the name that the installer or the end user gives to the...
OPOS is safer in that you cannot easily capture swipes, such as in notepad. You install it only on the terminal(s) the MSR is attached to. You do not need to install it on the server.
you need to install the C++ Redistributable SP1.
go here.
download the VC++ Redistributable from the Microsoft web site at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-40ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en
Select vcredist_x86.exe, about half way down the...
