how do you know that IE6 sends this "heartbeat" to MS??
this sounds a little impossible, if you consider how many pc's are online and how many billions of websites get visited, what would MS do with all this data, and why would you care who knows what sites you go to?
another way to...
Asus is famous for poor tech. support.
Try posting here: http://www.pcmech.com/
there are several Asus experts willing to discuss your problems...
(I hope this doesn't break some protocol at this website, but I have found lots of answers to Asus related problems..)
I guess my first question would be, why are you still using IE 5?
I had problems like you described until I updated to IE6. It's a fee MS download...try it you'll like it.

over half of the problems that occur from installing this program come from the user not knowing to uninstall various other burning programs. these programs become the driver for the cdrw. if they are not removed completely the driver stays and creates install problems not easily...
go to start\run and type sfc

put your win98 disc in your cdrom
choose the directory that has the file (D:\win98...or whatever drive letter designation your cdrom is)

Roxio may have it's bugs, but once you have it installed...
I never leave a program to do anything automatically. When you install Norton, and elect to keep everything running on autopilot it takes up a lot of resouces, especially the antivirus program (if you letting it automatically scan your email, this is why things are so slow). Try setting the...
I would not try to solve your problem with an upgrade to ME. If you wish to upgrade, solve your current problem first. I suggest either going back to the tech. that installed SE and borrowing the disc he used, or just bite the bullet and spend the $20 for the SE upgrade disc. If you are going to...
some one correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this happens when the "last page" reloads...you may have set your browser to automatically refresh every so often...when it does it opens "over" the page you are viewing.
there are two places that I can think of to check.
go to start\programs\startup
see if the programs folder is listed here and delete it if it is...restart and see what happens.
the other thing you can check is:
start\run...type msconfig and click ok.
when the system configuration utility opens...
your problem comes from registry entries from your old ezcd program. simply uninstalling doesn't help much. I had this problem and could never solve it. Recording software doesn't like to "play with the other kids on the playground".
even Nero will recognise adaptec or roxio software...
Mulga is right...the .bmp will be on it's own in the C:\windows folder. once you have opened this folder, go to the view menu and choose to arrange icons by type. this will put all the bitmaps together. you should have no trouble finding it then....
good luck
go to start/programs/accesories/Paint.
click on the Image menu/stretch and skew.
this is where you make your adjustments...just be sure to adjust horizontal and vertical the same (or the picture will be distorted). if you want to cut the picture in half, enter 50% in both horizontal and...
Your problem may be due to a copyright code that will protect the data that you are missing. If this is so, the only way to get a complete copy is to copy to hard drive first. Try copying an older cd, say something 7 or 8 years old...then again, one that old may not have the added data (other...
