I am trying to install Vista compatible Sony Vegas Studio Platinum 8. During the install the Vegas package tries to install Microsft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)- during the install a message window pops up: The Windows Installer ervice could not be accessed. This can occur if...
Each partition was installed individually. looking at the disk via Partition Magic C drive is the primry - all te others are logical. I have suspected my HD is 'going' for sme time and seachin on the web a number of people have suggested that when chkdsk has to clean numerous Orphaned Files...
Sorry for the delay. Changed boot.ini to only 1 option (Dad) - on restart there were two options Dad & Windows(Default). First time I booted to Dad all was OK - the 2nd time I had to go through Safe Mode. When in safe mode I saved the System and App event logs - there were some errors...

Brilliant – can’t thank you enough - although not out of the woods. The problem is my 2nd HD (400G Seagate ST 3400832A). If I take this out of the loop and have only my 200G Master on the primary and the two CDROM on the secondary the PC boots to the DOS 7 and MS DOS start up floppy. With...
Actually I was wrong. Both drives configured as Cable Select.
Reset as Master / Slave on Primary IDE (with 80 lead ribbon cable). No difference 'not' reading floppies. Try 40 pin ribbon cable, again as master/slave - no differnce to reading floppies.
Both hard drives are on the primary IDE configured as master slave. There are two CD ROM on the secondary IDE channel.
