David, By using the Tools pulldown or right-clicking in the command line, get to Options. In the Files tab, Template Settings, Default Template for QNEW, browse to the file you want to use. Apply and exit acad. The next time you open acad, the template you selected should be applied. Pat

Running out of room on C Partition

Brett, If you are running Exchange, you can change the location of the log files. Also, I think if you check the change/remove program listings, you can see which update/patches you can uninstall and keep those files in the windows directory, otherwise delete the uninstall files. I have...

map 2005 service pack and plooting issues

Map3D is a separate program. LDT includes Map functionality, but not the full program. You have to wait for the LDT service pack. In your windows printer dialog, go to the 1050 properties. On the last tab, Advanced (I think), choose process in computer. Pat

plotting color image in black & white

Are you plotting to a windows system printer or a .pc3 file? A sid is just a raster image and pen colors will not affect how they print. Open your windows printer and check the setup of your printer there. That is where you would choose color or grayscale. If that does not fix the problem...

    ip vs. dhcp security

Thanks daver, And to pacbell for the 1 page explanation of having no class @ http://public.pacbell.net/dedicated/cidr.html That's a good example of what I need to prove/disprove my point of static ip's making a network more vulnerable to attack. Is a network 5%, 10%, 50% more vulnerable...

    ip vs. dhcp security

segment, Thanks for the reply. Can you point me to someplace to get a set of reliable facts to show a very non-tech oriented mother-in-law that the guys she has are not totally on the ball? Just yesterday, she got one of the e-card viruses. Scares the s*** out of me to think what they have...

    ip vs. dhcp security

I'm asking this question for a family business that has roadrunner sevice. Right now they don't have a static ip address, but need one to connect Muzak service (remote cameras).
