Battery stuck in APC SmartUPS 1000XL. How do I get it out?
just read this thats why i have not replied before If the batteries are bloated like you say replacing them may only end up with the same problem again within a few months Make sure that the unit is in a well ventilated area as this can cause bloating and this model also has a known problem...- proximacentauri

APC SMART UPS 420 OVERLOAD FAULT
If the unit makes a load buzzing horrible noise when turned on then chances are one of the relays has welded contacts This is a faily common problem Hope this helps- proximacentauri

Hi All UPS batteries are a gel type sealed lead acid cell. The majority of those used in UPS are of the cheap variety and cannot handle deep cycle discharging.
