I suspect you have a related service or program (wfse?) is running. Check TaskManager for wfse or something related to the application. What is the name and...
Steven,
3Q's
- Does the business use a single or multiple static IP?
- What type of internet access do you have (e.g., cable,
dsl, T1, etc)?
- What is the equipment the Linksys (WAN/Internet) is directly connected?
I am guessing your Linksys may be mapped with a static ip and running in a...
I have no experience & little knowledge of Cisco OER. Is this a software load balance/router protocol or is this a hardware router?
Why not consider a dual-WAN with an full-time aggregate WAN connection, load balacing and failover capability? When one WAN connection to one of the data centers...
You should verify the port(s) (50-51,500-IPSec, 1723-PPTP, 1701-L2TP) are open for in the router to allow for VPN traffic to passthru the firewall/NAT..

G0AOZ, maybe step it down a notch, son.. Using industry acronyms/buzz-terms (BT Master, NTE5, router line stats, etc) with non-industry people is comparable to speaking chinese to the french.
I am in the industry and I dont even understand your #3 reply. Did you mean to say, try another...
Ah, I see... After retiring both (several) Linksys & Netgear routers, I assumed that all "residential-grade" wireless routers were designed under the auspices of "you get what you pay for..." So, I decided to do a little research & found several (technical) ratings that listed the Dlink...
stduc, nothing special 'bout dsl router - besides everyone has their own opinion about which dsl router is best... All dsl routers (e.g., westell, 2wire, netopia, efficient, siemons, etc) should pretty much have all the functionality needed for "home" users. Of course, you would need the...
aureliusster, what are trying to accomplish? Is this a new connection? having a problem? Just inquiring?
dont get bogged down with terminology. NAT, routed subnet, etc arfe default conditions for all DSL routers.
is your setup not working? P2E
General" info to bridge speedstream...
1. Determine the dsl router's default ip gateway address to access the modem GUI interface. See yellow sticker on the modem or run ipconfig. Note, make sure that TCP/IP in the local area connection settings is set for “Obtain an ip address automatically"...
yes bridge (aka bridged ethernet) the speedstream. if not, you have 2 routers connected to one another - which usually results in unpredicatable (aka intermittent) network behavior. never connect a router to router... P2E
sounds like your dsl and network router... the dsl router should be "bridged" (no internet light) and the network router should run a PPPoE connection... this will solve your prob.
