Hello, actually I have found the answer to my own problem. I have Windowblinds installed and some windowblind skins, seems like most of them, conflict with AE. Once I disabled windowblinds by killing the wbload.exe process it works.

Hi, I am running into a problem starting after effects. I had it running fine on my system about 6 months ago adno major changes since but now I am getting this generic error stating that after effects has crashed and to see the adobe support pages for help. The only specific thing about the...
Hi, I am running win XP Pro. I used to be able to roll back to earlier dates in windows through system restore. Yesterday my virus software said there was a virus in one of the restore dates and it was able to delete the virus but now I cannot go back to any earlier dates at all, not yeaterday...
OK this is a long shot here and if anyoe finds a simpler explanation, by all means.
I found this on a website when I was researching your question
"The maximum filename length on a NTFS partition is 256 characters"
That would be why you can open it. I would have to assume then that when the...
I found the problem. I figured I would post it here in case anyone else has the problem in the future. I was really frantic for a while, this is our livelihood here LOL. The problem had nothing to do with photoshop. My husband ran an old DOS version of a game (GTA) and somehow it messed with our...
OK actually I have more info. Sorry if I was vague before, I just wanted to get this out there as soon as possible. WHen you try to preview a clip rather then render the work area it displays garbage anf the weird thing is the scrambled image appears in the upper left of the monitor screen, not...
Hi, need emergency help here if possible. We are making a movie / documentary and all of a sudden out of the blue Premiere starts running strangely. My husband is running windows XP and this problm just started though wehave been using Premiere for a long time. When you try to preview a clip, as...
thanks, that did the trick. I was on 256 colors but once changed to auto it works beautifully. Also appreciate the tip about matte. I always wondered what that was for too. Thanks again!
Honestly it sounds to me like the user is just clicking too much. I have done the very same thing at work when I am in a hurry. They probably clicked twice to open the mail, which was going to pop up in the foreground but then might have quickly clicked a third time in their inbox, thus making...
Blueark, thanks, one more question though. If I am working with a round image, say a curved button for a web page, and the background is already transparent, when I do save as web and select gif, it turns the square area around the button white, not transparent. Is there anyway to avoid this in...
I hate to say this but it sounds like your hard drive may be damaged or corrupted. If this is the case, instead of reformatting see if you can get another hard drive with windows on it, just a basic install, and see if you can boot into it and then look to see if you can read any files off your...
Hi, this might not be your problem but sometimes a similar thing happens to me. I get a blank screen with no icons. Sometimes there is a start bar that does not respond, sometimes nothing but my mouse. It seems the actual explorer.exe program crashes. It can be restarted through task manager yes...
Hi, just a quick question to see of anyone has run into the same thing. Before switching to XP I had a lot of old games for 95 and 98 like Sim City, Need for Speed, etc.. I find now some of them will not run and others run very badly. I have tried setting the properties of the program to rum in...
blueark, I am trying to follow your directions but am running into a snag. I am running photoshop 6 on windows XP and when I go to save as web I found the eyedropper tool. I checked transparency, clicked on the eyedropper, clicked on the background color in the picture (was automatically turned...
I am not a programmer but I hope this might help. I ran into a similar problem once. I think I was running win 95 or 98 but it has been a while. It seems that Word was set to auto-save the document every once in a while and for some reason once it tried to autosave an error occurred where I...
