Thanks, Griffyn,
I was hoping to stay away from having to change all the clients signatures, so that's why I was looking for something server based.
I did note that RTP can be used for color text and so on, but I didn't realize it could be used for graphic references as well. I'll look into...
Does anyone out there know of a way to add/append graphic images to emails outgoing on Exchange server 5.5? I have installed the imsext.dll and got that working, but it seems to be only text.
Further, has anyone heard of a way to append signatures/graphics which are customized and would be...
Check out Microsoft KB Article 258206 regarding Installing Internet Mail Service Extension Imsext.dll. It includes journalling that is possible on a per recipient basis. I haven't used that function, jut the text append function. But I think it will do what you need.
In the Exchange Admin, under the IMS connector, Routing tab, have you selected the `Reroute incoming SMTP mail' option? I believe this must be done, as it indicates, to allow mail for POP3/IMAP4 support, which is Outlook Express
My guess is you're having network communication issues with the server that hosts the public folders. I get that message from my users workstations whenever I have to reboot my public folder server and they have their outlook running.
IIS must be installed on the machine you want to install Outlook Web Access on, but that machine doesn't have to be a full blown exchange server. I have a smtp mail relay server for antivirus/firewall protection, and it is not an "Exchange server" but it is running Outlook Web access...
I got mine to work. I replaced the cdohtml.dll file that was on the server with the one suppled on the install CD, the reapplied SP4, and all is working now. YahoO!!!
I'm having the exact same problem as you are. I had OWA running fine on an older machine, but due to some hardware changes around here, installing it on a newer server is giving me grief. I'm having a feeling it has something to do with SP4 on Windows 2000 server. Have you found a solution yet?
I have an Exchange 5.5 server on W2K machine that works perfectly. I want to install a relay server in front of this machine for antivirus protection. I configured another W2K server with Virtual SMTP server forwarding all mail to existing Exchange 5.5 machine - worked well. Once I tell the...
I'd be inclined to look at networking problems - network card, cable, hub/switch, etc. As joelrob asked about pinging the server, when this problem happens, are there any other network applications that fail as well? If it's only this one user, then it's got to be something on the machine...
Hello all,
Trying to change the reply reply/font color in Mail Format/Options, but it doesn't seem to stick - works with some emails, others not. Can't find anything in the FAQ here or in Knowledge base.
Thanks in advance
Are you getting any errors in the event log, specifically MTA or RPC communications errors? I'm getting the same thing with a test client that is on `server b' receiving messages from clients on `servder a'. I'm also getting event log ID's 289 and 9318. Knowledge base really has nothing that...
It definitely has to be part of a domain for security access, but it doesn't have to be on a domain controller. If you want no replication or links between these servers, then yes you'll have to setup at least a new site or a new organisation.
Hi. I pretty much went through what you're about to do, but from a Linux server to an Exchange server instead. You should find it much easier adding an exchange server to an existing system. Are you setting up a separate/new organization or site, or joining your new server to the existing one?
