I am in the process of creating a new database. Somehow, the menu bar has gotten away from me. It changes as I go from one form or table to another.
There are only a few thing I really want on the menu bar, but even when I go to the tools options and set it up, I end up with more then I want...
I did not know you could do that.
I added the VMLimit table to the query.
I put the one field (minimum) into the query.
Under criteria I entered >=[minimum], and it worked.
Thank you
FCCC
I am sorry. But I do not know what you mean by ControlName.
The table has only one field, and only one record. The table name is VMLimits and the Field name is Minimum.
Can you give me just another hint?
Thank you
I want to run a query with the results based on a value in a table not part of the query.
The table has only one record called MINIMUM
What is the format for such a critera, I have tried variations on the following:
=table!TableName!FieldName
But no matter how I write it, when I run the...
CaptainD,
I have set the minimum, but I am giving the end user a chance to change it. If the minimum I have set is acceptable to the end user, I don't want them to have to enter a value each time they run the report.
So my question is still how do write an expression to put a value in a...
I have one query (called QryVMLimits ) where I allow the user to set a value called [minimum]
I have another query where I want to list only those items that equal to or exceed the [minimum]as found in the first query
In the criteria section of the field that holds the quanity I have...
Thank you Grnbra and DKH.
I ended up using DKH (mainly because I could cut and paste). Turned out there was one extra ")" and it ended up at the end of the number (I think it was after the 8,4))&")"). Anyway, I was able to remove it, and it now does exactly what I wanted it...
I have a customer list that includes phone numbers. I am not allowed to change the customer table. The phone numbers are entered one number after another ( 18005551212 ).
The numbers are a mixture of seven digits ( 555-1212) and ten digits ( 1-800-555-1212 )
When I do a report, I would like...
I am not an expert, but I fax reports daily.
I have set up my computer's FAX card as one of my printers. When I have a report on the screen, I simply select PRINT and then select the FAX machine as the printer and go from there. Works for me.
ramondo,
Not to get too technical but, huh!
I am sorry but I am a very basic user of Access. I use Windows Access 97 and relie almost 100% on what Microsoft built into the program to do what I need to do. I don't think I would recognize SQL if I saw it, so I can not post it.
What I did was...
I have a table called work orders. It goes back to 1999.
I build (using the Access query wizard) a cross tab query.
I have one field that defines type of work, A=amc S=service.
I want to count the number of each per month.
I first created a query based on the table so that minium information...
It works! Thank you very much. I know there had to be a way, and I just could not figure it out. (All I know about Access is from doing it, and looking at others.) This little trick goes into my refernce book. Thanks again.
I am sorry, I must not have made myself clear.
=dlookup("extension","devices","device_id=text1") works.
I just do not want that extra step of creating text1
I want to use the same field name device_id in the criteria.
