If you boot to XP CD you could try a Repair option which will reinstall all the core XP files, this has worked for me in the past. The option is 'R' and is available just before you get to the installtion menus. Please note if you do this that any Windows updates will then have to be reinstalled.

Tried these solutions. No luck, still no Information Store. We are leaning towards the fact that this may be a permissions issue, but has anyone ever seen the information store dissapear due to permissions?

2 days ago our exchange server fell over and reebooted itself. We're still looking into why it fell over but that isn't the main issue. After rebooting it hung at "applying computer settings" and we discovered that the service "Microsoft Exchange Information Store" was hanging in a "starting"...

I don't think ms will ever fix this problem, you need to change you application to look to another drive, not an easy solution but the only solution.

Do all your users use a shared mandatory profile? If so just place the links in the desktop folder of the profile.

Hi Shrubble, We have got it set up so that the "unplug" icon is in the system tray, but because of GP we don't allow access to the system tray icons due to security risks. Any other ideas greatfully received!! Cheers, Karl
