Had same problem with SYS vol, but it abended only while estimating, if I disablebd file estimate it didnt abend any more, havent tried to enable it since. Maybe newer agents have this fixed.
I had this problem when job reached Lotus Notes database that had selected .nsf's & some selected been deleted from server. So the job failed & started again from beginning but the tape was marked to the save pool so it took next tape & so on.
Hmm ... strange, for my 2 NW5.1 serves with nwagent 7, SP4 solved a long lasting problem of having to use way old SP1 nlm's that nwagent uses. I use nwagent.nlm dated 23.10.2001. The other version dated 30.04.2000 indeed does abend with SP4 but the newer one is just fine (except license errors &...
Has anybody checked if all the drives backed up give the same speed ?
I get extremely low speeds from system drives (~50MB/min) other drives give up to 10 times more. It has smth to do with OFA agent. Once I was able to get great speeds with latest ofa dll's but later the speeds dropped again...
Recently on 2 of my win2k servers wth OFA appeared license errors with product code 1WCC - there is no product listed with this code, but search engins still listed the ARCserver product code pages, so there must have been at some time.
ARCserve tech suppord answered this :
Go to Registry...
Just to clear this thread up.
NA version is capable of doing only full backups.
For incrementals u have to use the Transaction logs that appear in the list with this version.
The other version does incrementals & fulls but does not back up transaction logs.
Now I discovered that even some user mail boxes are like that.
I mean there are no physical duplicate files or anything, just in Arcserve manager tree if I browse to Notes server I see stuff like that. The problem is when I backup individual databases ... do I need to select all of those...
In tree view I see things like this for example:
Agent Log (10)
Agent Log (11)
User Registration Queue (452)
User Registration Queue (453)
User Registration Queue (454)
User Registration Queue (455)
most of the system databases are like this but not user mail. Why/what is that ?
The problem finally clared out ... got response from CA tech support. I wonder why inf like this aint in agent readme ...
With NA API Version Incremental/Differential Backup is not Supported.
In NA API Version
--Transactional Logs Backup is Possible
--Incremental/Differential Backup is Not...
Hey .. thnx!
It worked the first time :)
Now I wonder why was I so sure that NA version was the right way to go that I had not even bothered to try OFA one... can anybody tell me what is the NA version good for anyway ?
