I'm not a Unix person, but one of my practices I support still uses their very old Medical Manager System to look at patient history. Long story short, someone else replaced harddrive. Anyway, they asked me to look at it. After SCO boots, comes up to log into GUI interface. I log in with root...
I'll apologize up front for the amt. of data, but my RS/6000 has done this a couple of times and I'm not sure where to start. Here is part of the errpt:

I have a user who is getting this message when trying to open a Word 2000 document. No matter what we do, inserting the file into another document, movig the file to another place on the server, etc. It still gives the same message. Any ideas?
Excuse my ignorance on this, but if we have an AIX box and want to run the same application on a UNIX box, is that something that is easy to do? I don't know enough about AIX and UNIX to know the quick answer.
Thanks.
Does anyone know if there is a market for used RS/6000 boxes? Any distributors? I'm looking to buy one to be able to setup a test environment. Our software vendor always wants to try things live and we'd really like a test box, but don't want to pay new prices.
Thanks.

I'm getting an error message INIT: command respawning too fast, may be causing errors. I check the errpt and am getting a software error. Also the ID is "usr/bin/getty/tty1" Any thoughts on what this could be?
Thanks.
As I'm just trying to learn AIX, I didn't know about the bootlog. When I look, its telling me its unable to configure some devices because they don't exist or are not in the database. We've got lots of digi portservers and it looks like these are what it is trying to configure. The network is...
I rebooted my RS/6000 server tonight. When it was rebooting it got to the Performing all automatic mounts part, beeped 9 times slowly, paused for a couple of minutes, then beeped 7 times. Can anybody tell me what this means?
