I am running an Omnibook 4150 with NT 4 Sp6a. I couldn't find my 3Com network cable adaptor so I installed an Aztel PCMCIA 10/100 card and loaded the drivers supplied.
On restarting the machine, I login OK but the hourglass that comes up while it's finishing initializing the system never goes...
That's how it was when it was hit. Unless someone tampered with it - too many people have the admin password.
It was OK, according to ordb, just a few days earlier. Can a virus or other form of attack open it up or use it even though it isn't open?

I have installed SBS-2000 including Exchange 2000. It has a broadband connection with no store and forward facilities running at the ISP. Apart from the revese DNS lookup feature, it appears that all the anti-spam settings that stop the spam also stop the legitimate emails. How should it be...
Further info
we have obviously become the target of spamming or a virus has got thru NAV as when we were finally able to open the queues they are full of mail which has not been generated here

Suddenly, late yesterday morning, the server slowed right down due to high activity on the C: drive (where Exchsrvr is) and some on the E: drive (where the log files are). At the same time outgoing SMTP mail...
Thanks Dan, you're right and now I've changed that.
I've currently got Backup Exec saving the mailboxes, the information store, the M: drive and the physical drive. I guessed that isn't efficient but I didn't think about it causing problems. Does backing up those folders irritate Exchange the...
I have recently installed an SBS-2000 server. DNS & WINS were OK until we enabled RAS & the 1st user dialed in. After this DNS & WINS enquiries were being sent to the IP address used by the dial-in client. I disabled RAS and cleared out the unwanted records & all is well. I will need to...
I have recently installed an SBS-2000 server and had problems with the Exchange Transaction logs filling up the drive and bringing down the server. I think I have fixed this by enabling circular logging and moving the logs to another drive.
The question is why is it happening. During the week...
