    so if I do it that way my clients should have the dns address of the 2000 server rather than the isp dns server, correct? Also, wins should be updating into dns if i have it set up right, correct?

    Were using wins for name resolution. I can stop the dns service and we'll function fine. You think maybee I need to start using dns? but again, its mostly 98 machines with the issue and they use wins, correct?

    I only have the one 2000 server. It is running wins and dns, but we don't use the dns server at all. In my clients ip settings we don't specify the 2000 server as the dns server.

    Well we use a 2000 server. But we are using dhcp to hand out the dns address of our isp. we not using the 2000 dns I don't beleive. We using wins.

    They still have internet access, but they cannot browse our domain. They get access denied. It happens to about 4 users on the 24 port hub. 3 are 98 users, and the 4th one had 98 with no problems and as soon as he got his 2000 machine it started happpening to him. As far as I can tell they...

    my users keep losing connectivity and the only way to get back on the network is to reboot for my 98 users. I thought it was bec. the distance between my two hubs was to far so I ran fiber between the two. But didn't fix the problem. what else could it be? Do you think I need a switch...
