HP server with 6 disks in a raid 5 config. A disk failed and was replaced, during the auto rebuild it fails at 86%. Along with a rebuild done via the controller util. So another replacement disk was tried, this also fails at 86%. We have tried a 3rd disk, 2...

The server has been continually used as a mail server but backups had not been required. Legato WWW report that an old OFM could cause the problem, but this has now been upgraded, and the fault persits.

I'm trying to revive an old NW server. Everything seems ok apart from I'm unable to start the Backup and Recover Service. On attempting to start this service. I get error 2140 windows internal error has occurred.

I have an NT4 Server SP6a. It has 4gb c: and a 30gb d:. I have just installed 2gb extra memory (now a total of 5gb installed). The server counts the memory ok, however during NT startup the blue screen only displays 4Gb. Is this because NT has a limit or anything to do with the c: being 4Gb. All...
The file is an empty file and contains no commands lines. I change the file by erasing the original file then using the command copy con to recreate the file at a more covenant time.

We also had problems with this running automatically during the backups. You can change the time when this runs by modifying the file nsrim.prv. The check is ran every 24 hours and it not recommended that you prevent it from running. Hope this helps.
has the legato account been disabled, or its rights changed, we used to have similar problems with network connectivity, and changed the binding order of the NIC's so that the backup NIC was first. Also try unloading the nlm's and recycle Networker on the Novell server.
yes we are using switches to route. The idea is to have the storage node backing up our Novell data and the server backing up our NT and Unix data. We have problems when we request a backup of our Novell data its sends the request to backup over our backup network, but then routes the data back...
Has anyone out there tried sharing a jukebox between a server and storage node. If so did they come accross any problems they would like to share with me.
We have now fixed all our read open errors by changing the load sleep setting in the jukebox configuration field. Default setting is 5, changing it to 200 and all our problems have gone away.
