I am building an unattended installation CD.
Windows 2000 with slipstreamed SP4.
\I386 has \$OEM$ folder with subfolders.
winnt.sif is in \I386
The CD boots OK. In text mode it stops to ask for partition info, and in GUI mode asks for computer name. This is OK.
But then it completely...
Skymarvel,
I have to disagree with your opinion that Veritas support is awesome (id that's what you meant).
I had the same problem today, phoned support, who gave me a check list to work through.
Well that completely screwed the whole system, making it completely unusable. Thanks Veritas.
To set the scene...
Windows 2000 Server SP4.
Backup Exec 9 installed.
I then went to Tools -> Serial Numbers and Installation to add the remote agent serial numbers (1 x Exchange, 2 x Server). These were accepted.
At this point the local media server decides that it is going to install the...
Also, there are a number of accounts that cannot open their email folders at all. Outlook starts with the folder items "Outlook Today - Mailbox" and "Public Folders".
Public folders can be expanded but the mailbox store gives the message...
"Unable to expand the...
In reply to darkhat...
Is the size of your store still the same then yesterday... or it changed? .....It looks smaller, but I only looked at it after the files were deleted.....
Do you have another Exchange server on your network... Maybe the mailboxes have been move to the other server? No...
Thanks for the reply.
The users are all configured for delivery to the mail server, they don't use pst's and only the laptop users use ost's.
These all happened this morning.
Something very wierd happened this morning.
First (and maybe unrelated) the Exchange server had lost touch with the GC DC, which had come unresponsive. Restarted both.
Now I have a major issue ...
50% of the users have now got an empty mailbox - everything. However, their email messaging...
When we run the mailbox manager (or when it runs weekly) the following message is generated...
The Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Manager has completed processing mailboxes
Started at: 2003-08-01 11:11:43
Stopped at: 2003-08-01 11:12:16
Mailboxes processed: 43
Messages that would be moved...
pdtit has provided a good answer there.
I don't see why you need third party tools when there are tools you already own like exmerge and eseutil that will do the job you want.
exmerge extracts all the data from individual users mailboxes and exports them to pst files. It can then merge psts...
OK, we got MS support involved, and this was basically the resolution.
Install SMS netmon, provided by MS.
Activate all logging for IIS, Applog, SMTP. Start Netmon.
Send trace logs to MS.
Install SMTP connector, we were using just the default virtual server (which I may add was working fine...
Be careful with the file size. The exchange box I spoke about reported file attributes of 8GB, but Exchange expands this to 14GB, probably because it's on a compressed drive.
We have recently been in this situation. Be careful, the exchange server can and will become unresponsive if you don't free up some space.
You need to run eseutil /d to defragment the database. On the first pass this took us six hours, MS recommend 0.5 hour per GB. Sunsequent passes are...
