Hello,
Theoretically, the bandwidth should be increased the more X rating you go. And this is the case, however, your system will hit a bottleneck elsewhere. Most likely your Front Side Bus will only operate at 100mhz on your system, if that (more likely 66mhz).
Most modern systems, which...
Hello,
As was mentioned earlier, Reviews are the way to judge. Based on a recent review of systems boards at Tom's Hardware (http://www6.tomshardware.com/mainboard/01q3/010806/index.ht), I designed a new powerhouse AMD system. I've included the specs below and teh approximate prices from...
Hello,
A note on SMP: SMP stands for Symetric Multi Proccessing. It is what you do when you have two or more CPUs in a computer. Programs need to be specifically coded to take advantage of two CPUs, they must be Multithreaded. Windows 95/98 are not. NT is, however remember that every...
Hello,
I'd like to post my comment in this holy war. I side with AMD for many reasons. Firstly AMD's CPUs are a superior product. Unlike Intel, AMD has redesigned the core of their CPU to allow for faster data transmission at lower clock speeds. The Result? More power for less bucks...
Hello,
Your interested in PC-Mods, or the art of making your system look cool. Search on the net for PC MODS. A good place to start might be http://www.pcmods.com/
Check out their case gallery.

Hello,
You can go to the following website to get your IP address. This will work provided that you are not using a proxy server.
http://www.netins.net/dialup/tools/my_ip.shtml
You can access your apache server from home by using a web browser and pointing it to your IP address. Say your...
Hello,
I think I understand what your asking: How do I set up a test network? The Private IP Range 192.168.0.0 has been set aside for this purpose.
1) Assign your linux server the address 192.168.1.1 (man ifconfig)
2) Change the hostname so something you would like (ie hostname...
Hello,
If you want to learn linux, I suggest you get a decent book. As for your current problem: your x-server isn't configured for your video card. Try this command:
xconfigurator
It should allow you to configure your video settings properly. Don't get discouraged. Linux is perhaps...
Hello,
Assuming that your using RPMs. If you wish to update the install, try typing:
rpm -U $FileName
This will upgrade the existing install of your program, presumably deleting the older files and replacing them with the new ones from the package.
Hope this NFO helped,

Hello,
rpm -i will install all files contained in the RPM regardless of output to console. Its magic, just accept it. I believe the rpm will install config info in /etc/httpd, and create a user directory in /home/httpd.
Try this command, It will give you all the info you want (I think):
rpm...
Hello,
Regarding the heat issues with AMD...
My AMD system has been in "Burn In" for 4 days now, and the CPU's heatsink is cool to the touch. My CPU is a 1,396.5ghz AMD T-Bird (10.5 multiplier, 133mhz bus) better known as a 1.4ghz Athlon.
By "Burn In" I mean the CPU has been...
Hello,
My advice to you would be to wait a few months untill the nForce Chipset comes out from nVidia. Yes, that wasn't a typo. nVidia has designed and will be shipping a north/southbridge that blows most everything else out of the water.

Hello,
Were you ever able to use your monitor at 640x480 with this video card?
If Yes, then your monitor could be going bad.
If No, Then your monitor just isn't syncing properly. (indicated by the click; its trying to sync, but can't) This, most likely, is due to the fact that your video card...
Hello,
AMD's CPU's have consistently out-performed Intels best offerings. With AMD, you get better performance because of a 266mhz FSB as opposed to intel's 133mhz FSB.

Hello,
Pertaining to this thread... I had an SIS Graphics card onboard that was on an AGP bus (8 Megs of RAM) and it was Very Slow. After a while I upgraded to a TNT/2 (32 Megs) PCI and it was wonderfull, comparatively. The Problem is that the onboard graphics chipset can't handle acceleration...
