1 When you say it works for 10 - 20 mins and then freezes do you mean the operating system (XP) was fully loaded and then froze?
2 Or does it freeze 10 - 20 mins into installation?
3 Did you boot from a floppy...
Sean - - Is your XP disc a recovery disc or a retail disc of XP? - Also, is it home edition or Pro? - If a retail disc then is SP1 on it?

Try doing this.
Run, type in "fdisk status" (without the commas)
Observe that your drive is not partitioned and 100%
Worth a try.
