It turns out it wasn't a virus. Although it seamed that it was the most likely problem. I took the non-working laptop computer to a coffee shop with free internet. It worked fine. Which meant the problem had to be networking. I called roadrunner tech support (They don't support LANs), so I...- not2stupid

The host files are empty except for localhost. I have turned of the firewall and it makes no difference. :{ Using FTP within Firefox & Ie. I can telnet using port 80 and get a response from the server. I can't read it but it connects. :) I can make an https connection to a site that...- not2stupid

DNS Works, Can Ping, Can't Surf except google.com
I can browse the internet but only to www.google.com. (gmail.com works also) Any other web ulr or ip adderss which I have tried return with no data on page. Ping resolves DNS entries and return the correct ip address. Tracert works also. Ftp works. Both ie & firefox produce same result...- not2stupid
