    thanks tviman Yes I do have access to server, on server/exchange I can redirect within domain but not to external address which is what we want to do, but using pop3 rather than smtp. thanks so far

    Thanks for the advice, ultimately it seems all I needed was time, since following a re-boot and a refreshed browser list everything works fine. now all I am left with is a userenv error 1000, but that's another post

    Thanks but although I was pushed for time, I am pretty sure I gave full control to everyone as a starter. The problem seems to be more with getting access to the server at all, from a client machine you can see the domain but nothing further ? access denied permissions may not be granted etc.

    We have an Alcatel Speedtouch Pro router with hardware firewall, Server 2000 and XP clients. How necessary is a software firewall (like Zonealarms integrity) or should we just configure the built in XP firewall? Many Thanks

    We run a pE2400 with dual 733, 512MB and 18gb,10k SCSI disks, with win 2K SBS, file sharing, sql intranet/database, exchange and sage accounts, but only 5 active users. I would be grateful to know what most effects speed of network and what I should consider upgrading. many thanks for any help
