In my experience i dont use tapes from one device in another because each tape device may tension the tapes slightly differently. If they are from another Backup software it can cause the issue. The only way i got around this was to buy new tapes.

Am running Novell 4.11 and arcserve 7. Strang thing is that all that happend was the scsi controller for the tape deivce failed. we put a new one in same make and model using the same nlms and now we get the error

When i try and load tapesvr.nlm from astart it fails but gives no errors. When i try and load it from the console i get public symbol errors and then tapesvr.nlm is using 1 outdated API call. Has any one got any ideas?

I am trying to install Arcserve 7 on a Novell 4.11 server. I get to the point where catirpc tries to load. it fails I search the web and it sugested i load it with the -tispxport= option but when i do it say invalid option and then ignores it.
