Further to broadthoughts experience, we had a similar problem. Easiset way round was to copy the old archive to another file area safely, let Notes create a new Archive with the old name and then copy the old Archive over the new, empty, file.
We have a database where the document executes an attached file which works fine for most of the time. However, on replicas of the database and for attachments larger than 1MB we see the error "You are not authorized to perform that operation. Could not detach to file...."
Any ideas...
Once a quota has been established it does NOT prevent mail been sent/received although you should see an error on send that basically means it will not be stored in the Sent file.
Also if you have set a quota below the current mailbox size it will be totally ignored!

I also had problems with this product and Notes 4.6, the version 2 driver works though. I think you need Notes Release 5 for the NOTESSQL 3.00 driver to work correctly....

We have a workflow application developed in 4.6 (we are unlikely to move to R5 for a few months yet) which intermitently generates the above error.
It is easily cleared by exiting Notes and then restarting the database but does anyone know how to avoid it in the first place, what exactly is...
We have had similar problems and this approach worked:-
Changed from existing UK date format to any other in Control Panel and rebooted.
Changed back to UK date in Control Panel and rebooted.
Restarted Notes.
I think we had to do this as Notes had originally been installed with the Windows...
You could try linking to Access from Notes using ODBC (something I have not tried myself).
If its a one-off exercise why not export the data from Access to a text or spreadsheet and import it into a Notes view? The Notes help describes the mechanisms for both methods in fairly good detail.
Go to the Notes Name & Address Book find your Person document, in the Mail section enter the required email address into the "Forwarding address" field. Save and close the person document.
Note this will send all future mail to the specified account, it will NOT be stored in the Notes...
