dreamboat, you are a star mate!!!! i didn't try the conc thing, but you got me thinking about why i was putting the =sum() in there, and well i don;t know why. so i removed it and ay presto bin2hex(number) works on its own.

hellooo i'm trying to convert from binary to hexidecimal, i've sorted out the formular =sum(bin2hex(number)) but if i try to use a binary number that gives a non-numeric output in hex, all i get is #value. any help???? neil

used to run win 98, ie 5 was doing fine.<br>then for some unknown reason i installed winME, now when i try to run ie, it connects, sends and receives about 400 kbs and then stops, but the connection is still there.<br><br>what is wrong with my machine?<br>
